Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We have been offering hosting services since May, 1999.
What is your primary product or service?
Our core services are focused on website and application hosting in the Minneapolis, St. Paul area. An extension of this service is our cloud server products and managed services for end user devices and hosted equipment.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
In late 1998, I was in the market to host a website I had just created. The service providers of that day were expensive and lacked a lot of features I was looking for. I realized at that moment there was an opportunity to fill those voids and started writing the business plan for Inet7.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Inet7 was one of the first in our region to offer web hosting as our core service. Every other provider, even today, offer something else as their core service (ISP, Web Design, etc.) and web hosting was something they "had" to do. Because web hosting is not their focus, our competitors are deluding their services and saturating their support staff with questions from every angle, creating challenges in their customer service department. Many have tried to resolve those challenges with knowledgebase's and automated support channels, but not a human being.
Inet7 is focused on customer service, web hosting and closely related services. As a result, the service they receive is running on an infrastructure that is managed better and less faulty than our competitors. If there is a problem, our customers can call and speak with someone who can solve any issue they are having without escalation or delay to other departments.
We even have people call in to ask our opinions about unrelated services. A testament to their trust in our customer service department.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently our hosting infrastructure is located in two data centers, one in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the other in Dallas, Texas. Our office space is located in West St. Paul.
We are working on a high-availability hosting solution that includes load balancing between multiple data centers as well as expanding our services offering so end users can benefit from our expertise about hardware and software in a business environment.
What type of payments do you accept?
Our customers are all unique. That being said we offer many types of Payments by check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Which areas do you service?
The nature of the Internet allows Inet7 to offer our services globally. However, the greatest majority of our customers are from the upper midwest.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Kenneth Taylor is the President and oversee's all operations and business decisions.
What are your hours of operation?
Our infastructure, support and monitoring are available 24x7. The call center is open 9am-5pm but we monitor and respond immediately to any problematic devices that are under our managed services umbrella of protection.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
An obvious answer to this is when someone refers a trusted client of their own to Inet7. A less obvious answer is the phone calls we receive with questions about business initiatives, objectives or road-blocks someone may be encountering, each entirely unrelated to technology. This demonstrates to us that we are fully trusted, top of mind and our objective of holding closely formed relationships with our customers is being reached.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
"Be nice, work hard, have fun." This is something I tell each of my kids everyday before they go off into their school or the sport they love so much, gymnastics. When it's an especially critical day (test days, finals, or training before a national meet), I might leave off the "have fun" part.
