Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Originally since 1973. We've been a corporation since 1993.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a freelance court reporting agency.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The job looked fascinating to me. I was in college trying to figure out what I wanted to do and was coming up blank. I registered at Northern Technical School of Business and the rest is history. After school I went to work for Richard Kinsella. He was a great guy. He took me under his wing and gave me the opportunity to continue on in the business he started after he retired in 1993.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
This is a full-time business. We have an office with conference rooms. The office isn't located in the basement of my home. We keep up with technology and offer about anything the attorney might want. Too many to list. We've been in business a long time and hopefully we'll be around even longer.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Right now we have one location. At this time we see no reason to expand. We can be anywhere in the Twin Cities in 1/2 hour or less.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We're located about a mile south of 694 on Lexington Avenue on the east side of the street.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept checks, MasterCard and Visa
Which areas do you service?
We cover the entire State of Minnesota
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Kevin Hartigan owns the business and is in the office every day.
What are your hours of operation?
8:30 to 5:00, Monday through Friday
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
When an attorney thanks us for going beyond the call of duty, so to speak, in getting that attorney the transcript they needed right away. This morning a law firm called and had forgotten to to line up a court reporter. We had a reporter at the deposition on time. The secretary said we saved her.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
It's not a Bible verse. When leaving the office on the way to a deposition, I always say, "Get it all."
