Not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing injuries at work, on the road, at home, at pl
The Minnesota Safety Council is a private, not-for-profit organization that helps people stay safe at work, on the road, at home and at play. Since 1928, our sole focus has been to make Minnesota a safer and healthier place to live. Our programs and services include:
Workplace safety and health. Our classes, seminars and consultation assist employers in developing safety programs, complying with regulations and keeping their workers safe.
Traffic safety. We offer both on- and off-the-job traffic programs including defensive driving courses for the workplace and in the community.
Community safety. The Minnesota Safety Council coordinates Safe Kids Minnesota, a statewide network of health, education and safety professionals and organizations involved in preventing childhood injury. The coalition provides information and model programs. Our Safe-a-Rooni Web site for kids (www.safe-a-rooni.org) provides engaging online activities supported by information about how to stay safe and the CarSeatsMadeSimple.org site provides information about selecting and using child safety restraint. We also provide significant online resources focused on preventing falls among older adults, bicycle safety and numerous other safety topics at www.minnesotasafetycouncil.org.
