Our curriculum is comprised of a strong core of humanities and sciences, which is carefully and creatively integrated with art, handwork, foreign language, music and movement. Teachers are trained in Waldorf methods that help unfold each child’s innate passion for learning. Children flow from home-life activities and imaginative play in preschool and kindergarten, to marching math games and building projects in early grades, and then advance to scientific discovery and critical thinking in the upper grades.

As a long-time teacher I was thrilled to find a school committed to traditional curriculum (handwriting, latin, classic literature) with a progressive approach to learning that incorporates music and art as part of every lesson, not just separate classes. My kids are artists, musicians and scholars as a result of this well rounded curriculum. Big draws were also no-tech classrooms and adequate lunch and recess time. We've been here for 10 years and it has been a wonderful community to be a part of: like-minded families coming together to support a wholesome learning environment for our kids. So important in our challenging times.

I highly recommend The Minnesota Waldorf School. This school has been a welcoming place for our family. I encourage anyone who is looking for a school to come visit MWS. The community, faculty, and staff are incredible and both my children are academically challenged, plus the emphasis on the arts and music program is of great importance to our family. As a parent it is a wonderful feeling to know that my children love going to school.
