Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Corpus Christi was founded in January, 1939. Our original site was on Cleveland Avenue across from the Saint Paul Campus of the U of M.
What is your primary product or service?
Our mission Statement: The Church of Corpus Christi, a welcoming parish community, making Christ present through sharing his message, celebrating the liturgy, and challenging members to practice justice, peace, and charity.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The current pastor, Father Robert Fitzpatrick, has been a priest of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis since 1973. Most of the current staff are also parishioners who serve their fellow members of the faith community.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Corpus Christi works hard at being a welcoming community through hospitality and the celebration of liturgy. All ages are included in forming that bond of community. That welcome turns around into a spirit of service and outreach to those in need.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Corpus Christi is clustered with Saint Rose of Lima in Roseville. That means the two parishes share a pastor. The two parishes, however, are distinct. Saint Rose maintains a Catholic School and is increasing its care for the growing number of elderly in Roseville. Corpus Christi, while working to adapt to the changing needs of the people of Roseville and the Saint Anthony Park neighborhood of Saint Paul, continues to have that spirit of outreach.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Corpus Christi is located at the southwest corner of Fairview Avenue and County Road B. We are just south of Rosedale Shopping Center and Highway 36. If you can see the pyramid from the intersection of Fairview and County Road B, you found us!
What type of payments do you accept?
Our website, www.churchofcorpuschristi.org, has a link to a donation site that accepts credit and debit cards and direct bank transfers.
Which areas do you service?
Roseville, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, and Saint Anthony Park in Saint Paul.
What are your hours of operation?
Office hours are Monday thru Thursday, 9am to 4pm, and Fridays, 9am to Noon. (Summer Fridays are closed.) Weekday Masses are Monday and Tuesday at 8am. Saturday Mass is 5pm, and Sunday Masses are 9:30am and 6pm.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
"We felt welcome!"
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Psalm 139, verse 5, "Behind me and before me you hem me in," meaning that we are wrapped in the hem of the Lord's garment and he comforts us and protects us.
