Books For Africa is the largest shipper of donated textbooks to the African continent. We have shipped over 20.5 million books to 45 different countries since 1988.
During the past year, BFA sent three million text, library and reference books valued at $20 million to our partners in 24 African countries, touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals.
We are a part of the Federal Combined Charities Campaign allowing federal employees to designate their charitable donations to BFA.
Books For Africa has established new partnerships with Oprah’s Angel Network, The OPEC Foundation for International Development, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and Peace Corps missions across Africa to expand our ability to get more books to where they are most needed.
Collaboration with our strategic partner -Better World Books- has now put Books For Africa on 1,000 college campuses and hundreds of libraries across the United States, where books are collected on our behalf by college students.
